their facilities. Facility ID 1619053 will officially close on February 1, 2019. This facility is tied to the 2018-3564
agreement, which was approved on Consent Agenda 11/7/2018.

Hello folks and happy new year to you and your families,
Unfortunately, I am writing to inform you that as of January 1st, 2019 CGL-CPA initiated
a 30 -day notice for all youth in care at the Marion home - Provider #1619053. The
primary issue we are facing is that the current owner of the Marion property has moved
forward with rezoning the property for private commercial use. The final hearing for this
zoning change is set for January 9th, 2019. With this, the home will officially close on
February 1, 2019. We are currently helping all youth in care plan for transition and
thankfully many will be moved into our other programs.
CGL was first notified of the property owner's desire to change over the property in 2017
and with this CGL began the process of finding a new home to relocate Marion into. The
alternate residence was identified and obtained and zoning for this property was
approved for a specialized group center. Since then CGL has worked with a contractor
to open the new residence however several steps, the most significant being the
changes in the fire code, requiring all group centers to install a fire suppression system.
The cost to get this system is enormous and unfortunately, the amount of time needed
to get the system approved once installed may not be quick enough for Marion's
property owner.
CGL is continuing to help find ways to get the new property prepared to open but as you
can see the current circumstances we can not control. This is not our desire and I am
sending this with much regret - definetly not the wa we wanted to start our new year.
Regardless, myslf and owner James Guyton wanted you all to know ow much we
appreciate all the support you have provided to both youth and home over the past 13
years. We look forward to continining our relationship with you and will especially notify
you when we open the new home.
