Gentlemen :
I have been informed by the Board of Trustees of the Town
of Evans, Colorado that you are interested in improving the
County portion of the Evans Cemetery and are considering a long
range program for the care of the County's portion of the
cemetery.
The Board of Trustees has asked me to write this letter
setting forth the proposal as they view the situation.
1. The County will grade, level and sod the County
portion of the cemetery.
2. The County will re-set any grave markers temporarily
removed.
3 . The County will erect a community stone carrying all
of the names of the unmarked graves.
4. The County will install and replace the underground
sprinkling system.
5 . After the above improvements are made, the Town of
Evans will give perpetual care to the County portion of the
cemetery, if the County will deposit $10,000.00 in the Evans
Perpetual Fund. Interest from said sum shall be used entirely
for the care of the County portion of the cemetery.
6. The estimated interest to be earned from said deposit
is $600.00 per year, and it is estimated that this will be the
cost of annual perpetual care.
7. If the annual perpetual care maintenance increases,
the deposit by the County will be reviewed every five years and
increased to cover the costs of perpetual care maintenance.
I believe this outlines the proposal of the Board of
Trustees of Evans, Colorado to the County of Weld. If this is
satisfactory, a formal agreement may be drafted along these
lines by your County Attorney.
