RESOLUTION
RE: PERMITS FOR OPERATION OF VEHICLES OF EXCESS SIZE
AND WEIGHT (OIL RIGS, ATTENDANT VEHICLES AND ALL
APPURTENANCES THERETO) ON COUNTY ROADS.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that there has been excessive
damage to county roads and bridges caused by operation thereon of
vehicles of excess size and weight (oil rigs, including all attendant
vehicles and appurtenances thereto), and
WHEREAS, the Board, after investigation, has determined that
there has been a loss of several thousands of public tax dollars due to
the destruction of county roads and bridges by persons operating such
vehicles of excess size and weight over said county roads and bridges,
and
WHEREAS, the Board believes it to be in the best interests of
the county to take all necessary steps and precautions to discourage
the destruction of county roads and bridges by the operators of such
vehicles of excess size and weight there over, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 63 C. R. S. , 13-5-127, the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the authority
to issue or withhold permits and to impose condition of operations on
and over its county roads and bridges of such vehicle or vehicles of
excessive size and weight.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, and it hereby authorizes and directs the Clerk to the
Board to issue permits for operation of vehicles of excess size and
weight (oil rigs and all attendant vehicles and appurtenances thereto)
on Weld County roads only after application therefor is properly made
and acknowledged by permittee, per copy of permit and acknowledgment
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Board, and it hereby directs
and orders the Clerk to the Board to charge a fee of Five Hundred
Dollars ($500. 00) for every such permit issued.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 18th day of July, A. D. ,
1973, nunc pro tunc as of June 20th, 1973.

It is understood by the applicant that this permit when issued is valid only on those roads and highways under
the jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,Colorado.
If the requested permit is granted, the undersigned agrees:
1. To take every precaution to protect the highway and the traffic from damage or injury,using pilot cars or
flagmen to warn the traveling public on all blind curves,both vertical and horizontal.
2. In case of overwidth of load, the same is to be placed on the vehicle with the overhangs as far to the right as
possible, and in any event the material shall be loaded as to present the minimum hazard to traffic.
3. To make this traffic movement only between DAYLIGHT and DARK,and to remove the traffic load from
the highway except between those hours.
4. To be financially responsible and to make prompt payment for any damage caused to the traffic or to high-
way or bridges by the transportation of this load in excess of limitations prescribed by statute.
5. That the operator of the vehicles is duly licensed according to statute.
6. To operate the vehicle or vehicles at all times in accordance with any and all provisions of law, except as
exempted herein,with regard to motor vehicles and the operation thereof.
7. Except when a permit is requested and granted for over-weight, the undersigned applicant specifically states
` vithat his load is legal weight;and that the same cannot be loaded to conform with the statute.

This application when signed by a County Commissioner or County Engineer in the space below provided becomes
the requested permit subject to the conditions,with the understanding that no liability is assumed by the County of
Weld by reason of its issuance, in regard to conditions of roads or capacity of culverts and bridges,and the applicant
is charged to make necessary examination and inspection as to the adequacy of road or bridges to care for the
traffic movement. In case of emergency the Commissioners of Weld County have authority to suspend this permit
until emergency conditions have passed.
