Box 758 Weld County Courthouse Greeley, Colorado 80631 Attention Mr. Barton Buss Subject: Weld County Services Complex Greeley, Colorado Serial Letter No. 6 Gentlemen: At 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 9, 1974, proposals for Bid Package No. 1 for the Weld County Services Complex were received and opened. Item C of Bid Package No. 1 included furnishing of reinforcing steel for drilled piers only. We have completed our analysis of the proposals received for furnishing of reinforcing steel for drilled piers. The results of these proposals are as follows: 1. Rio Grande Company - $7,300.00 2. C F & I Fabricators - $8,335.00 3. Dalco Engineering - $9,244.00 4. Hausman Corporation - $10,425.00 You will note that the low proposal was submitted by Rio Grande Company. We have examined all proposals and find them in order. Therefore, we are recommending the low proposal as submitted by Rio Grande Company be accepted. Upon approval by the Board of Weld County Commissioners, we will issue a letter of intent to Rio Grande Company. We have sixty (60) days from the receipt of the pro- posal to issue a notice to proceed and a formal contract for the work. Our recom- mendation is to proceed immediately to issue a letter of intent to Rio Grande Company. In addition you will note that Rio Grande Company's proposal has an es- calation clause if the material is not delivered before August 9, 1974. Therefore, we recommend that authorization be given to proceed with purchase of the reinforcing steel to insure delivery by August 9, 1974. Due to the small quantity of rein- forcing steel, storage will not be a major problem.
