PASS -AROUND TITLE: Match Letter for the 2019 Hazard Mitigation Grant Application

Brief description of the problem/issue:
Commissioners, attached is a letter requested by the State to document the match commitment funding. This is
for our grant application for the update to the Wel4l Couhty Hazard Mitigation Plan. the application was
presented to the Board on December 12th and approved by the Board. We included a letter of intent to
participate with the application, but FEMA and the State need the attached letter as well. I've included a copy
of the Budget worksheet for your review.
I request that we add this document to the consent agenda as it need to be provided to the State by Jan 14th
What options exist for the Board? (include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options):
Approve the letter and sign. If the letter is not signed our application will be denied.

Re: Funding Match Commitment Letter as a participating jurisdiction in Weld County's Multi -
Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP)
Dear Mr. Boand,
This letter serves as Weld County's commitment to meet the matching fund requirements for the
Weld County Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) Update.
If awarded a HMA Planning Grant, Weld County will provide local cash matching funds in the
amount of $20,000.00 for development of the Weld County HMP. These cash funds are currently
available in the Weld County 2019 Budget.
Therefore, with a full understanding of the fiscal obligations incurred by this agreement, I Barbara
Kirkmeyer, Commissioner Chair, commit Weld County match funding to the Weld County
Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Planning effort.
