HomeMy WebLinkAbout20201572.tiffWHEREAS, the Windsor Wizards wrestling team competed in the Class 4A State Championship Tournament February 20, 21 and 22 at the Pepsi Center in Denver; and WHEREAS, several strong individual performances helped Windsor capture its second team state wrestling championship in three years; and WHEREAS, seniors Dominick Serrano and Isaiah Salazar made history by winning state titles at 132 pounds and 182 pounds respectively. They became the second and third wrestlers from Weld County to win individual state championships all four years; and WHEREAS, junior Vance VomBaur captured his first state championship at 138 pounds. Seniors Cody Eaton and Tristan Perez also earned state titles giving the Wizards a total of five in the tournament. Freshman John Kenney, senior Jake Trusty and junior Vincent Fortin -Munoz also finished in the top six of their weight classes. NOW, THEREFORE, that in recognition of the stellar wrestling season had by the Windsor Wizards, the Weld County Board of Commissioners congratulates team members, coaches and parents on the special accomplishment of winning a state championship.
