HomeMy WebLinkAbout720529.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR FROM WELD COUNTY TO THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT. WHEREAS, heretofore and on October 15, 1969, W. E. (Bing) McMahan was appointed as Weld County's representative on the Regional Transportation District comprising Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas and Jefferson Counties and a part of Weld County, and WHEREAS, Mr. McMahan has submitted his resignation as Weld County's representative on said Board, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Weld County to continue having a representative on said Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that John P. Watson be, and he is hereby appointed, to serve out the unexpired term of Mr. McMahan as Weld County's representative on said Board and until July 1, 1973; however, subject to the approval of the majority of the governing bodies of the cities and towns located within the boundaries of the district in Weld County, Colorado. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 26th day of July, 1972. I also feel that I cannot do justice to the County of Weld that I represent, I must say that I am completely in favor of Regional Transportation and will do everything I can to support this intent and your newly appointed representative, Sincerely, W. Watson as Weld County Representative to the Regional Transportation District. Those towns that did not sign have the following reasons: Mead -- Mayor and Pro-Tem Mayor on vacations and unable to contact them. Erie -- Mayor resigned - unable to locate Pro-Tem Mayor. Frederick - Town board meets only once a month - Mayor unable to contact.
