SUBJECT: Paver with Windrow Elevator, B2000031
The Public Works Department recommends awarding the bid to the lowest bidder, Wagner Equipment, for one
2020 Caterpillar Paver at a cost of $401,724.32 with a 2020 Weiler E550C Asphalt Elevator at a cost of
$128,960.02. This asphalt elevator doesn't meet specs for two hydraulic motors with planetary gear boxes; it
has only one hydraulic motor. We spoke with a contact who has used this model of machine with one
hydraulic motor and has experienced no problems. We recommend purchasing this asphalt elevator due to no
problems experienced by the contact and the next lowest bid that meets all specs would cost an additional
$63,970.00.
We would like Option #2 (Self Greasing System) for the Paver at a cost of $7,415.00. We would like Option #1
(Remix Auger System) for the Asphalt Elevator at a cost of $12,505.00. Option #2 (Complete Set of Manuals)
is available at no cost for the asphalt elevator.
The cost of one Paver and Asphalt Elevator from Wagner Equipment with the above options is $550,604.34.
There is $600,000 budgeted for this purchase.
