WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MONTH
SEPTEMBER 2020
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners wishes to recognize the alignment of
Employment Services of Weld County, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment,
and the Colorado Workforce Development Council, educators, businesses, and economic
developers to enhance workforce development; and
WHEREAS, the Northern Colorado Regional Economic Development Initiative and Sector
Partnerships, as proven methods to address business expansion and retention, create
innovative training, and promote the region's competitive advantage; and
WHEREAS, the thriving industries that provide employment opportunities to many
Coloradoans continue to recruit and retain a competitive workforce and continually upgrade
the skill set of their incumbent employees; and
WHEREAS, workforce development staff help job seekers access employment, education,
and training opportunities to enter and succeed in the labor market.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of County Commissioners joins the Governor of Colorado
and the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, and hereby proclaim
September as Workforce Development Month.
