Greele -
To East 8th Street corridor property owner,
RECEIVED
JAN 17 20711
WELD COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS
In 2018, the City of Greeley began creating a plan for the entire East 8th Street corridor to
improve access and increase safety along East 8th Street between U.S. 85 and Weld County
Parkway.
Current design work has focused on how to improve one part of the whole corridor, East 8th
Street between U.S. 85 and Ash Avenue. Project designers have begun finalizing the project and
I would like to provide you an update about the progress, status, and scope of the project as it
stands today.
The project design reached the 75% mark at the end of last year. Based on those and earlier
designs, Greeley staff have begun working through the process of acquiring property interests
(right of way and/or easements) to build improvements between U.S. 85 and Ash Avenue.
Based on the project schedule, City officials anticipate pre -work will begin in the fall of 2020,
which will include relocation and installation of utilities and other infrastructure elements. Staff
estimate this phase of work will take approximately three to four months and will enable the
construction of the final street improvements between U.S. 85 and Ash Avenue.
Thank you for your time. If you have any questions, I can be contacted at the phone number or
email below.
Sincerely,
Brian Ward P.E., P.M.P.
