WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
May 18, 2020
The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County Home
Rule Charter at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2020, at the Weld County Administration Building,
1150 0 Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order by Tonya L. Van Beber. Councilmembers Nancy Teksten,
James Welch and Gene Stille were present, constituting a quorum of members.
Councilmember Brett Abernathy had an excused absence. Also present was Council Secretary
Linda Kane.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA :
Councilmember Stille made a motion to amend the agenda to include discussion of road
debris under New Business, it was seconded by Councilmember Teksten and carried.
APPROVAL OF DOCUMENTATION:
Approval of April 20, 2020, Minutes
Councilmember Welch made a motion to approve the May minutes, seconded by
Councilmember Stille, and the motion carried.
REVIEW PROGRAM:
There was no review program.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Jenna Leian, of Greeley, had questions about how JBS workers are being tested for COVID.
Councilmember Teksten said information has been made available about testing sites, etc., and
the information was on the county's web site.
NEW BUSINESS:
Coordinator Reports/Councilman Reports
There were no coordinator reports.
Bills
Councilmember Stille made a motion to approve bills, it was seconded by Councilmember Welch
and carried. The bills were paid as ifollows:
o Weld County Phone Bill for April $25.00
Ciscussion about Debris
Councilmember Stille discussed debris on roadways. Council discussed dump dates being
canceled due to COVID. Council discussed asking County Commissioners to provide a dump site
date in which people can take their debris. Councilmember Teksten said as stores such as ARC
and Goodwill open, people will be able to take items in for donation.

Councilmember Stille will approach commissioners and provide information about Council's
concerns.
OLD BUSINESS:
Discussion about Timers
Councilmember Van Beber said she will purchase a timer(s) and donate it to Council for use
during public comment to let constituents know when their three minute allotment is over.
ADJOURNMENT:
By acclamation, the meeting was adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
