LUCILLE SHEPARD
The Board of Weld County Commissioners would like to wish Lucille Shepard a very happy 100th birthday! Lucille was
born on November 17, 1920, on a farm in North Dakota, and moved to Greeley in 2012 to be closer to her daughter, Sherri.
Lucille advises others to try a little of everything, so you know how to do anything. She must follow her own good advice,
because she has become known at Greeley Place as the Puzzle Lady and the Bingo Queen. She is also recognized as a master
seamstress, having sewn all her daughters' clothing and helping fellow residents with their sewing and mending needs.
It's been said that Lucille is an absolute delight to be around, with age never keeping her from doing what she wants to do.
She is the first one to join in on the fun and usually the last one standing at the end. And, after being the spotlight at a biker
rally, Lucille is living proof that a number doesn't define who we are. In fact, Lucille's wild, youthful spirit can be summed
up in her secret to longevity: "I just think God isn't ready for this much mischief!"
Congratulations, Lucille, on a milestone birthday and a life well -lived. Here's to many more happy years to come!
