RE: APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO APPOINT COMMISSIONER SCOTT K. JAMES TO
TOWN OF FIRESTONE URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Firestone Urban Renewal Authority (FURA) has been established
to provide urban renewal within portions of the Town of Firestone, pursuant to C.R.S. §31-25-101,
et seq., and
WHEREAS, C.R.S. §31-25-104(2.5) allows for the appointment to the FURA Board of one
County Commissioner "of the county in which the territorial boundaries of the urban renewal
authority are located," and
WHEREAS, FURA's territorial boundaries include areas within Boulder and Weld County,
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Weld County recommends to the Executive
Director of FURA that Weld County Commissioner Scott K. James be appointed to the FURA Board
as a new member.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Commissioner Scott K. James, be, and hereby is, recommended for
appointment to the FURA Board.
