HomeMy WebLinkAbout20200028.tiffEATON REDS DAY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2020 WHEREAS, the Eaton Reds marching band competed in the 2A State Championship Monday, November 4, 2019, at Sam Suplizio Field in Grand Junction; and WHEREAS, the team was judged throughout the day on its musical performance, visual performance and general effect. The band performed original music written by composer Shilo Stroman as well as "Pulse" by Randall Standridge and "The Willows of Winter" by BJ Brooks; and WHEREAS, with the goal of "creating a moment to last for the rest of our lives," the Reds turned in history -making performances that earned them a team score of 77.40 and the team's first state championship in school history; and WHEREAS, the win capped a strong season for the marching band and the efforts of its 41 high school students and four eighth -grade students. In addition to performing at football games, the marching band also finished highly at two separate events and in first place at regionals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Commissioners in Weld County, Colorado, that in honor of the team spirit, hard work and dedication shown by the Eaton Reds marching band during a championship season, that Wednesday, January 8, 2020, be known as Eaton Reds Day.
