RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF MARK LAWLEY AS DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF WELD
COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on July 15, 2020, Dr. Mark Wallace, M.D., will retire as Executive Director of
the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment ("WCDPHE"), and
WHEREAS, the WCDPHE is in need of a Deputy Director, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mark Lawley has agreed to be Deputy Director and the Board desires to
appoint him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Mark Lawley be, and hereby is, appointed Deputy Director of the Weld
County Department of Public Health and Environment, effective May 16, 2020.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Mr. Lawley be, and hereby is, authorized to
perform all necessary and statutorily mandated actions and duties in the absence of the Executive
Director.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 22nd day of June, A.D., 2020, nunc pro tunc May 16, 2020.
