RE: Additional One -Time FY 2019-2020 Core Services Allocation from Promoting Safe and Stable Families funds
Dear Ms. Walker,
This letter is sent to advise that Weld County's Core Services Allocation was increased in the amount of
$158,302.56 to fully expend federal funding from the Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) program. Eligible
expenditures incurred between July 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020 from your Core Services Program line wilt be
moved to the new PSSF coding in CFMS. This new coding will be included in Core Services and show as expenditures
against your increased Core Services Program Allocation. The PSSF program was under spent statewide for the
federal fiscal year ending September 30, 2019. The utilization of the PSSF funding in Core Services does not impact
any PSSF funding your county was allocated in FY 2020; therefore, your county's PSSF allocation remains the same.
Your county's Core Services Program allocation was increased. The Office of Early Childhood moved expenditures
to pull down all of the PSSF Federal funding.
PSSF/Core Services Program Expenditure Adiustment:
$158,302.56 in 100% funding line.
Please keep in mind this is a one-time 100% funding modification, and is not considered sustainable funds. These
one-time funds must be expended by June 30, 2020. Core Services Program funds are to be used to provide
strength -based resources and support to families when children/youth are at imminent risk of out -of -home
placement, in need of services to return home, or to maintain a placement in the least restrictive setting possible.
The Core Services allocation may not be used to fund the costs of out -of -home placement.
Please submit the appropriate Core Services Plan budget pages that correspond with how your county plans to
spend these additional one-time funds. The Core Services Plan budget pages must be submitted to this office by
close of business Friday, February 28, 2020.
