HomeMy WebLinkAbout740059.tiff RESOLUTION RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC ON COUNTY ROADS AND AT COUNTY ROAD INTERSECTIONS IN WELD COUNTY, COLORADO. WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that drivers of motor vehicles habitually drive on County Roads and through County road intersections without regard for the general safety of drivers of other motor vehicles, and WHEREAS, pursuant to 1963 Colorado Revised Statutes, 13-5-69(1), as amended, local authorities, with reference to streets or highways under their jurisdiction, are authorized to designate through streets or highways and erect stop signs at specified entrances thereto, and WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has deter- mined upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations that conditions exist which make it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County Roads by posting signs thereon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Board deems it neces- sary to regulate, warn and guide traffic on County Roads and any inter- sections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the State Manual and speci- fications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commis- sioners, Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish the following not to be through streets or highways for the named portions of County Roads which shall become effective when standard stop signs are erected at the entrances to: 1, County Road No. 58, also known as 20th Street West, where it intersects with County Road No. 31, also known as 59th Avenue, all as shown on plat submitted by the County Traffic Engineer and made a part hereof by reference. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of August, A. D. , 1974. The attached diagram indicates the corrective action taken. Previously, 59th Avenue was a stop at 20th Street. Due to upgrading of 59th Avenue to a Class "A" road, traffic has increased on 59th Avenue to twelve (12) to one (1) over 20th Street. Therefore, it became necessary to change the stop to 20th Street making 59th Avenue a through street. All existing rules and regulations have been complied with. The changes have been made and are proving satisfactory. Your cooperation in adopting a resolution to this effect will be appreciated. AT of cr1LORADO se.
