Subject: Kersey Magnesium Chloride Storage Design
Weld County awarded on-call design services to four different vendors. There is a need for design
services for magnesium chloride storage and dispensing capability at the Kersey Grader Shed. Robert
Shreve Architects and Planners has used the labor rates identified in their bid and quoted a lump sum of
$15,740 for this design scope. Buildings and Grounds is recommending approval of this task order.

Project Title: Kersey Magnesium Chloride Storage System-Design Services

Design Compensation: $15,740.00
Note: Pursuant to the "Original Agreement", document No. 2019-2250 section 2.2-Additional
Task Order Work. In addition to that work described in section 2.1,the Parties may agree
to additional work to be provided by Contractor pursuant to an appropriately executed
Task Order, which shall be negotiated between the Parties on an as needed basis. Any
such Task Order shall be signed by the Weld County Director of Buildings and Grounds
before it shall be effective.In no event shall the total of all Task Orders exceed$25,000 in
any calendar year unless first approved by the Board of County Commissioners. Any
appropriately executed Task Order shall be automatically incorporated herein and
enforceable.
Scope of Task Order:
1. The project will involve providing architectural plans and specifications for the
installation of new magnesium chloride storage facility. Complete services for the
project as described in the attached Exhibit Task Order 2-2020.
Contractor agrees to perform the services identified above and on the attached exhibit in
accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein and in the Original Agreement
between the parties.

Dear Toby,
The scope of work will include preparing plans for the installation of a new magnesium
chloride storage facility with the equipment and piping necessary to receive, store and
dispense the liquid. The design may include site modification requiring civil design
services as well as adding an extension of the existing site electrical service to the new
storage site.
The members of the team that participated in the preparation of construction documents
will be Wemsman Engineering for the civil and structural work, G2 for the design of the
electrical service extension and plumbing design and RSAP for the project management
and planning services. Incidentally we have included in the fee$2,000.00 for surveying
the site. For the design services outlined previously we propose a "Lump-Sum Fee" of
$15,740.00.
