TO: WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Whereas, the recreational demands are constantly increasing in Weld
County due to increases in leisure time;
And whereas, the projected increase in Weld County population will
lead to further demands on recreational uses;
And whereas, construction costs will increase as time goes on
Therefore be it resolved, this 9th day of July, 1971, the following
members of the Weld County Fair Board go record urging the appoint-
ment of a joint committee to serve as an authority to administer plans
for Island Grove Park;
Further be it resolved, we recommend that this authority be instructed
to take action necessary for future development of Island Grove Park;
Further be it resolved that on March 9, 1971, the Island Grove Task
Committee voted in favor of the appointment of an Island Grove Park
authority. We fully concur with this action and ask that this be done
without any further delay.
