BOCC Approval Date: January 13, 2020
Eight (8) RFP responses were received and opened on November 8th, 2019 for
#B1900133 - Storage and Data Protection Refresh. Responses range from
$1,162,217.24 to $2,995,353.62 in cost. Attached to the BOCC packet is the RFP
tabulation document.
The Information Technology staff reviewed all the responses which include pricing,
functionality, technical design and additional benefits. The lowest cost vendors that
meet the RFP requirements are Peak Resources Inc. with a cost of 51,511,702.06 and
Lewan Technology with a cost of $1,580,995.00. Of the two, Lewan Technology
emerged as the vendor with the most comprehensive solution that best meets the
needs of the County and the vendor with the most advantageous long-term price,
technology, and overall design.
Although Peak Resources Inc. proposal is slightly less cost than Lewan ($69,293.94 or
approximately 4.4%), Peak's solution would require additional hardware and
maintenance costs in order to implement the system based on our existing and future
technical architecture. IT staff estimates the Peak solution would cost an additional
$530,000 to fully implement into the existing Weld environment. Attached to the BOCC
packet is the RFP Detailed Analysis document and the Summarized Scoring Sheet.
Based on the above information, I recommend the Board award B1900133 Storage and
Data Protection Refresh to Lewan Technology out of Denver CO, for a total amount of
$1,580,995.00. The cost is within our estimated 2020 capital project budget.
