WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
September 21, 2020
The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County Home
Rule Charter at 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Weld County Administration
Building, 1150 0 Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order by President Tonya L. Van Beber. Nancy Teksten, James Welch
and Brett Abernathy were present, constituting a quorum of members. Gene Stille had an
excused absence. Also present was Council Secretary Linda Kane.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA :
The agenda was approved.
APPROVAL OF DOCUMENTATION:
Approval of August 17, 2020, Minutes
Councilmember Teksten made a motion to approve the August minutes, seconded by
Councilmember Welch, and the motion carried.
REVIEW PROGRAM:
There was no review program. Councilmember Welch made a motion to have the coroner
speak at the October meeting and move the county attorney to January, it was seconded by
Councilmember Van Beber, and passed.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
There was no public comment.
NEW BUSINESS:
Coordinator Reports/Councilman Reports
Councilmember Van Beber welcomed back Councilmember Abernathy. He thanked her for
hosting a community benefit in his honor.
Bills
Councilmember Abernathy made a motion to approve bills, it was seconded by Councilmember
Welch and carried. The bills were paid as follows:
o Weld County Phone Bill for August $25.00
OLD BUSINESS:
Councilmember Abernathy asked for an update on the whistleblower program. Councilmember
Van Beber indicated information was provided on the web site while Council could act as a liaison.
ADJOURNMENT:
By acclamation, the meeting was adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
