Kelly Acting Director of Public Works Greeley Civic Center 919 7th Street Greeley, Colorado 80631 Dear Mr. Kelly: This confirms the comments made informally by Mr. Gau - during his 14 January 1972 visit - regarding the revised proposal by The Ken R. White Company for survey work on the Cache La Poudre flood plain. Neither cross section overlays nor film positive enlargements are needed by us for preparing flood plain information. Deleting these then are satisfactory to us. Pencilled manuscripts containing normal topographic detail for 1"=200' mapping with 4 ft. contour intervals are satisfactory. Cross section locations shown on the pencilled manuscripts and photo contact prints will serve our purposes. We suggest that sections be identified in the manner we have on the A.S.C.S, photos on which we have delineated our requirements. We'd also like to have the stations at the section terminals identified. It will serve our purposes if the cross sections X and Y data are plotted directly on computer data cards, rather than on the manuscripts. Zero horizontal position on the data cards should represent the left end of the section looking downstream. Duplicate copies of the punch card layout sheet and the data card we use are inclosed. If the contractor doesn't have a sup- ply of this type data card we will furnish to him the job's require- ments. Also inclosed are duplicate conies of sample field notes for stream crossings. This latter serves for the sections marked in blue on the A.S.C.S. photos where information on culvert and bridge water- ways and for other structures can't be picked up on the Kelsch plotter. Photos or plans of bridge waterways - with needed dimensions added - will serve as well as field sketches. 720585 MROID-PC 19 January 1972 Mr. Edward S. Kelly Regarding the priorities - it is our plan to complete the three volumes of flood plain information in the order requested by the Planning Commission. Our progress will be best if the contractor concentrates his work in the designated order of priority. It will be helpful too if the manuscripts and corresponding cross sections would be provided to us, one at a time, as they are completed working from downstream to upstream. We're pleased that this arrangement for surveys is being concluded to the satisfaction of all concerned. Our compliments and thanks to all who have worked so hard to achieve the objective. Sincerely yours, 11 i I71 3 Incl /-r R. G. Bunna1, P.E.
