RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the people of Weld County, State of Colorado, are
saddened by the death of Elmer L. Shultz, and
WHEREAS, Elmer L. Shultz was a man of great courage and
honor, and
WHEREAS, Elmer L. Shultz had gained the love, respect and
admiration of the people of Weld County through his great devotion
to his office as County Commissioner for Weld County District Two.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that by the death of former
County Commissioner Elmer L. Shultz, Weld County has lost one of
its outstanding citizens, and it does hereby pay tribute to a
man of great ability and high integrity, rho has well served not
only Weld County but all of his fellow men, and does extend
heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on this 6th
day of Apri1,1973.

SERVICES HELD FOR
ELMER L. SHULTZ
Funeral services were held
last Friday for.Elmer Lester
Shultz, 1201 S.W. 1st., Johns-
town, at the United Methodist
Church in Johnstown. Burial
was in the Johnstown. Cemetery
with Masonic rites by Johns-
town Lodge No. 1'40, AF&AM.
Shultz, a lifelong resident. of
Johnstown and a former county
commissioner representing. this
area, died early Wednesday,
April 4 at his home. He was 76.
Born March 28, 18'97, he was
reared andeducated in Johns-
town and married Mabel Sloan
here on May 15, 1918.
Active in community affairs,
he served as county commis-
sioner for 12 years, was a cur-
rent member of the town board;
and also served on the board of
Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the
United Methodist Church of
Johnstown and served as sec-
retary for several years. He
was also a member of the
Johnstown. Rotary Club, the
Johnstown Fire Department
and a 50-year member of
Johnstown Lodge No. 140,
AF&AM. He was a past secre-
tary of the directors of the
Johnstown Fire District; a past
member of the Beet Growers
Association and a member of
the Colorado County Commis-
sioners Association.
Surviving, in addition to his
wife, Mabel Shultz, are three
sons and a daughter, Edward
and John Shultz of Johnstown;
Glen Shultz of Littleton; and
Mrs. Doris Parish of Torrence,
Calif. He also leaves 1'1 grand-
children.
