Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment
Second Floor Hearing Room 210 & via skype
The Weld County Board of Health met on July 28, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing
room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via skype.
Those present included:
Board Members: Nicholas Berryman, Joyce Smock, Fred Hepner, James Kuemmerle, Sandra Owens,
Tim Annable and Jeff Reck
Others: Mark Lawley Deputy Director Health Department, Katie Sall & Lauren Light Environmental
Health Services.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM. A motion was made by Tim Annable to approve the
agenda as presented. Fred Hepner seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The board approved the minutes of the June 23, 2020 meeting. A motion was made to approve by
Fred Hepner and Jeff Reck seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
DIRECTOR REPORT — Mark Lawley
Dan Joseph was approved and appointed Environmental Health Director.
We are still searching for Division Director for Clinical Services. Hope to have that position filled in
the next week or so.
COVID 19 still alive in Weld County. Contact tracers are busy trying to contact people and where
they have been when they tested positive.
BUSINESS
Biosolids Renewals
Veris Environmental, LLC- Katie Sall presented 10 biosolids renewal applications. No public
comments or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval.

A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve the renewals. Tim Annable seconded the motion and
the motion was carried unanimously.
Staff Discussion:
We need to try and get a replacement for District 1 to replace Joyce Smock.
No presentations were given. For our August meeting we will have someone come in and give us an
update on COVID 19 in Weld County. For our September meeting we will have an update on
Zoonosis in Weld County.
A motion by Sandra Owens to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Joyce Smock. Meeting was
adjourned at 9:18 am. Next meeting is Tuesday, August 25, 2020. This meeting will be in the board
of health room 210 and VIA skype for those that don't want to come in.
