Hey Chloe, I think I already asked you this last week but I can't find the email!?! WHAT IF the whole world is still under quarantine and our lives still on hold in April? Can our event be delayed if nothing is changed but the date or will that force us to re -do all the permits and paperwork all over again? I want to prepare early for options other than an anxiety attack, should one be necessary. Question 1: If we are serving alcohol at an event and charge money for drinks we need a special events permit? The only way to submit that permit is in person, with an appointment? Yes — you need a Special Events Permit or standing liquor license to profit from the sale of alcohol. Once you have a completed application packet, please contact me to schedule a time for submittal. The application and fees do have to be submitted in person. Question 2: If we are serving alcohol at an event and we ask for donations we do not need a permit? No, you cannot ask for donations in relation to the sale of alcohol. The Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division considers this an indirect sale. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincere regards, Chloe A.
