Dear Sirs:
As requested in your May 28, 1974 letter concerning clerical assistance
to our Soil Conservation District , we submit the following information
for your consideration in funding for the year 1975.
Our needs include one full time secretary position. This position
requires typing abilities, gathering and assembling technical data
for soil interpretations , inking aerial photos for soil delineations
and flood plain areas of Weld County, developing resource inventory
maps of Weld County and other general secretarial duties as related
to soil and water conservation problems in Weld County including
drafting work on drainage designs for unincorporated towns in Weld
County.
Our estimate is that this position should be salaried at $6.200.00
per annum. A 4-day week schedule for a highly qualified secretary
would most likely be a minimum need at a cost range between $4,800.00
and $5,200.00 per annum.
We have two ways to handle the salary of this secretarial position,
First, he or she could be a regular employee of the County and
receive all benefits , etc. of a County employee. What we feel to be
most advisable would be for Weld County to grant the West Greeley
Soil Conservation District funds in an amount to cover the cost of
the clerical position. The Board of Supervisors of the West Greeley
SCD would then be responsible for the hiring, firing , and supervision
of this person holding the position. The Board of Supervisors would
also report in writing periodically to the Weld County Commissioners
as to what extent the funds have been used and the benefits accibing
to the Weld County area for funding the position.
