Final Five Candidates Selected to Interview for
Vacated County Commissioner At -Large Position
Greeley, CO — At a special meeting on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, the Weld County Council
selected five candidates to interview for the County Commissioner At -Large position vacated by Sean
Conway.
In January, the Council received a letter of resignation from Commissioner Conway effective January 31.
His regular and final term in office would have completed on December 31, 2020. The Council has sole
authority per the Home Rule Charter to select a replacement.
Eleven applications were received. The five candidates to be interviewed by Council are Perry Buck, of
Windsor; Gary "Butch" White Jr., of Ault; Mike Finn, of Greeley; Elijah Hatch, of Kersey; and Kevin
Ross, of Eaton.
The candidates shall be interviewed during Council's regularly scheduled meeting Monday, February 17,
at the Weld County Administration Building, 1150 O Street in Greeley. Please note county offices are
closed this day in observance of the President's Day holiday, but the meeting will take place beginning at
6:30 p.m.
The candidate selected to fill the commissioner vacancy will be expected to be sworn -in and able to
attend the regular commissioner meeting set for Wednesday, February 19.
The Weld County Council is a non-partisan, voluntary, elected body that has specific enumerated duties
set forth in the Weld County Charter.
