If possible, please forward my email to the commissioners.
Weld County Commissioners,
Allow me to voice my appreciation for your recent letter regarding school graduations.
As a superintendent, I have utilized information from Weld Co. Health Dept. and have
attended most of the town hall meetings. This information has been a benefit as we plan
our ceremony. However, it should serve as guidance, as stated in your letter, the
decision should rest at the district level. The Weld Re -9 (Highland) board values local
control and ultimately is responsible to our communities. We constantly encourage
"personal responsibility" to our students and families as they make decisions.
At the risk of overstating this issue, I believe your letter is a nod to independence and
freedom.
