Proposed Fox Creek 33 Compressor Station Soils Report Soils affected by the proposed Fox Creek 33 Compressor station were evaluated for a number of factors to assess potential Project impacts . An assessment of existing soil quality or sensitivity was completed by evaluating the following factors: wind and water erodibility, prime farmland , hydric characteristics, and drainage characteristics . Soil disturbances can increase the potential for erosion, which can cause topsoil to be lost, and can negatively affect soil stability and quality. construction can also result in mixing of topsoil with subsoil , resulting in reduced soil structure and stability, soil fertility, and important soil biological function .. The following table lists the characteristics and soil limitations of each series for the proposed Fox Creek 33 Compressor Station . At the proposed Fox Creek 33 Compressor Station , soil data provided by NRCS (shown on the attached figure) indicates that the two soil types present within the Project footprint; • one is susceptible to water erosion , • none are susceptible to wind erosion , • one is classified as a farmland of statewide importance , • both are considered well drained , • none are classified as hydric. tErosional Potential Hydric Runoff Drainage Frequency of C Prime Farmland Rating class ° Class f Flooding 9 Impacts (Acres) Water Wind Factor 3 Group b 4 - Ascalon fine sandy loam, 0 to 6 percent slopes Farmland of well 4e 3 statewide 0 Low drained None 3 . 5 importance 5-Ascalon sandy loam, 5 to 9 percent slopes 4c 3 Not prime 0 Medium Well None 0 . 7 farmland drained a Soils designated as having a Capability Class of 4 or greater AND a Capability Subclass of e , OR the slope class is greater than 8 to 15 percent is considered to have an erosion potential due to water. b Soils in wind erodibility groups 5 and 6 are considered to have an erosion potential due to wind . c Prime farmland includes categories : Prime farmland if irrigated , and farmland of statewide importance , not prime farmland as designated by the NRCS . die Rating as designated by the NRCS . f includes soils that have clay loam or finer textures and are somewhat poor, poor, or very poor drainage classes. g Rate as designated by the NRCS. h Permanent impact acreages. The soil units of the site would not be a limiting factor to the construction and long-term operation of the proposed Fox 33 Compressor Station . To mitigate the impacts of construction on Project 20200935. 001NDEN October 9, 2019 0 2019 Kleinfelder LEINEEL DER Bright People Right Solutions. soils, grading and clearing of vegetation would be conducted only to provide adequate construction and operational staging and access to the Project areas. To reduce the potential for erosion , disturbance or removal of vegetation would be kept to the least extent practical for safe construction conditions . Areas disturbed from construction activities that are not actively cultivated would be re-seeded using a mix of annual and perennial species established through consultation with the local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS ) and landowner. Reseeding would not be performed where surface facilities require the site to be maintained in a vegetation-free condition. 20200935. 001NDEN October 9, 2019 0 2019 Kleinfelder Soil Map—Weld County, Colorado, Northern Part N (Fox Creek 33 Compressor Station ) N iti 0 545100 500 545700 546000 54630D 546500 546900 54720D 547500 54780D 548100 548400 40° 58' 58" NnTh I § 4)0 58' 58" N F - r 0 Ip Y iii.* .1 0 z _ . _\ - - -- - - r Imma.r.". . , 1%• \ :Itit =_-_ -- _ — 'fir 4 } TIH FOX CREEK 33 :--Janina - COMPRESSOR STATION s n , imi* . r r illikNits, ,1 • as I 4111Ik Ill• . n 40° 57' 48" M I I I I 40° 57 48" N 545100 545400 545700 54600D 546300 546600 54€000 547200 547500 547800 548100 548400 En Map Scale: 1 :15,2x0 if printed on A landscape (11" x 8.5") sheet.
