The bid was awarded to MHC Kenworth for $190,002.56 as they were the low bidder. MHC Kenworth cannot supply the vehicles that meets the original bid spec at the quoted price. Fleet Services and Purchasing have rescinded this bid. Transwest Truck Trailer RV has Colorado State bid pricing for a Freightliner CNG tractor that will meet the original bid spec. The cost of this tractor is $198,567.00, this is a price increase of $8564.44. Fleet Services and Public Works recommends awarding the bid to Transwest Truck Trailer RV for the total of $198,567.00. This combination was used to attempt to get as close as possible to the requested speeds of 50 feet per minute at an idle and 74 mph at top speed. The combination of gearing tire size and engine rpm's put the speed at 50.86 feet per minute at an idle and 74 mph at 1784 rpm's. At just .86 feet per minute over, I submitted the bid and put in the comments what the road speeds were to allow Weld County to decide if it would be acceptable. This combination using 11R22.5 tires would achieve the 50 feet per minute at idle with 48.62 but would have an unacceptable rpm's at 1926 at 74 mph. But as things stand now it is not being approved unless there is a wavier for the auxiliary transmission warranty as the combination of gearing exceeds the torque rating for the low speeds on the transmission input shaft.
