Home My WebLink About20201180.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE APPLICATION FOR FOSTER AND KINSHIP FAMILY PLACEMENT STABILIZATION FUNDING AND AUTHORIZE ELECTRONIC SUBMITTAL WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Application for Foster and Kinship Family Placement Stabilization Funding from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, to the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth, and Families, commencing upon full execution, and ending June 30, 2020, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said application, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said application, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Application for Foster and Kinship Family Placement Stabilization Funding from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and to the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth, and Families, be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Denise Suniga, be, and hereby is, authorized to submit said application electronically. Request Board Approval of the Department's Application for Foster and Kinship Family Placement Stabilization Funding. The Office of Children, Youth and Families is providing county departments of human / social services and licensed child placements agencies (CPAs) with financial resources to provide direct support to stabilize placements for foster and kinship parents considering the coronavirus pandemic. Up to 60 counties and child placement agencies will receive $1,200 in placement stabilization funding on a first -come -first -serve basis, requiring no County match. To request funding, Child Welfare will complete, sign, and submit the online application for consideration and funding will be approved until fmancial resources have been allocated. Ideas for the use of funding include, but are not limited to: Online educational resources, online therapeutic resources, gift cards for grocery delivery services, and childcare assistance for our foster and kinship families. All placement stabilization funding must be spent by June 30, 2020. With approval, the Department will complete, sign, and submit the online application. I do not recommend a Work Session.
