Class 3A cross country state championship on October 17 at the Norris — Penrose Event
Center in Colorado Springs; and
WHEREAS, the Wolverines had several strong individual finishes in the 5K event.
Sophomore Abuzaid Fanning finished fourth out of 100 entrants posting a finish time of 16
minutes and 27 seconds. Senior Sylas Chambers finished sixth with a time of 16 minutes
and 53.3 seconds; and
WHEREAS, Juniors Dylan Dieterle and Sebastian Groom, were the two other Wolverines to
finish in the top 20, posting times of 17 minutes 07.3 seconds and 17 minutes 20.2
seconds, respectively. Junior Noah Baca finished 28th, senior Justin Quamman finished 33rd;
and
WHEREAS, each Wolverine finished in the top third in the standings. Frontier Academy
finished with 48 points — 28 points in front of the second -place team — to capture its
second consecutive state championship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that in honor of the amazing effort put forth by the cross country team,
coaches and parents to win the state championship, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, be
known as Frontier Academy Day.
