Gentlemen:
I am writing to express to the Board of County Commissioners the
appreciation of the Weld County Board of Health for being included
in the planning for facilities for the Weld County Health Department
and other county offices.
The Weld County Board of Health has thoroughly studied the report
compiled by the Engineering Firm of Nelson, Haley, Patterson and Quirk.
At the last board meeting, May 8, 1972, the Weld County Board of Health
unanimously approved the report regarding the proposed site location
for new Weld County Health Department facilities, as recommended by
Nelson, Haley, Patterson and Quirk.
The Weld County Board of Health wishes further to express its interest
in working with the County Commissioners in any possible way to assist
in continued work on new Health Department facilities. It is felt that
there is an urgent need for adequate facilities for the Health Department.
Some preliminary inquiries have been made of the Colorado State Department
of Health and it appears that it may be possible to get Hill-Burton fund-
ing up to a level of 45% for a new Health Department facility.
It is hoped that this opinion and these comments by the Weld County Board
of Health will be helpful to the Board of County Commissioners in making
its further plans and decisions regarding facilities for county offices
and operations.
