RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF DR. MICHAEL BURSON AS WELD COUNTY
CORONER/MEDICAL EXAMINER
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 6-1 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter,
effective January 1, 2003, the County Coroner/Medical Examiner shall be appointed by the Board
of Weld County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Burson fulfills the requirements of said Section 6-1 and Colorado
statutes, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to appoint Dr. Burson as the Weld County Coroner/Medical
Examiner to replace Carl Blesch.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby
appoints Dr. Michael Burson as the Weld County Coroner/Medical Examiner, effective July 16,
2020, to replace Carl Blesch, with said appointment to continue to and until the Board of County
Commissioners decides that such appointment shall end.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 27th day of July, A.D., 2020.
