HomeMy WebLinkAbout20201570.tiffWHEREAS, the Eaton Reds wrestling team competed in the Class 3A State Championship Tournament February 20, 21 and 22 at the Pepsi Center in Denver; and WHEREAS, behind an individual state championship victory and several top individual finishes, the Reds finished with 105.5 points, earning a share of the 3A state championship, the first in school history; and WHEREAS, sophomore Ryan Dirksen won a state championship at 145 pounds. Junior Tanner True finished second at 285 pounds. Junior Cael Jordan placed third at 160 pounds. Freshman Morgan Tribbett and senior Logan Bean finished sixth at 170 and 195 pounds respectively; and WHEREAS, Eaton's championship season also earned coach Tony Mustari special honors as he was named 3A Coach of the Year by the Colorado Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. NOW, THEREFORE, that in recognition of the effort put forth by the wrestling team, coaches and parents during a championship season, the Weld County Board of Commissioners congratulates the Eaton Reds wrestling team on a championship season and for showing teamwork, determination and an overall can -do spirit in capturing a state title.
