Weld County Commissioners .
Weld County Court House - .
Greeley, Colorado " - .
Gentlemen: . •
This is my third time that I have tried to get a response from
you gentlemen concerning your inaction as pertains to decent roads in .
- the southern end of Weld County; In addition to the three letters I
have sent, I have twice made-trips to your. office, all to no avail. . _

In 1967 I asked for improvements on our main road, which is
running parallel to and one mile west of I-25. At that time subject
road was almost unusable during -any rain or snow. The mailman and .
school bus drivers refused to travel subject road, since it was in
" too bad a shape. In 1968 this road had minor work done on it, which
improved the condition. However, since that time nothing has been
done to the road. •

I live on 'the east-west road running off the main road that runs
thru this egg production community. This road was accepted by the county •
in 1967, and in your words was a very well constructed road. However,
since acceptance you have not put one shovel of gravel on this road. It
- is as barren as a table-top of gravel: The maintenace grader operator •
"blades" this road almost weekly, but there is nothing to blade. Even . .
the bumps defy his machine. Do you gentlemen think that the original .
gravel was intended to last-forever?
- Last month made one of m h' y non-productive trips to your office.
Finding n9bne' there to answer my questions, a clerk in your office directed
me to the engineer in charge of r oads. I talked with him and he assured me
action would be taken. No action to date..
We in thisa rea are in egg production. It is imperative that we have - -
good roads to move our products. The present rands fail far short of our
needs. In it's present state of disrepair it is damaging to our produce.
In it's' present condition, it fails to meet our basic needs in inclement
weather. ,
We, as: taxpayers, are supposedly represented by your body. I find
that any effort on your part has been sub-standard and piecemeal. Your
roads in the Greeley area do not exist in sub-standard conditions. Why
then should these?
