HIGHLAND HUSKIES DAY
MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2021
WHEREAS, the Highland Huskies cheer team competed in the CHSAA Class 3A state spirit
championships at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs on March 25; and
WHEREAS, the excellence of the team's routines aided the Huskies in finishing above
Prospect Ridge Academy, Woodland Park and Gunnison; and
WHEREAS, with a team score of 73.80, the cheer team captured the state championship —
the program's fourth in the past five seasons; and
WHEREAS, this year's championship effort meant facing a new challenge as the Huskies
competed with teams from Class 3A after competing at the 2A level in previous years.
Highland's success speaks to the continued work ethic, determination and perseverance of
our young people. We are proud of your effort and equally proud to share in your success.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners
that Monday, April 19, 2021, be known as Highland Huskies Day, in recognition of the talent,
teamwork and dedication shown by cheer team members coaches and parents during a
championship season.
