RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF TINA POWELL AS INTERIM DIRECTOR OF
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS FOR WELD COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, due to the resignation of Michael Wallace as the Director of the Director of
Public Safety Communications for Weld County, a vacancy currently exists in said position, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Tina Powell as the Interim Director
of the department of Public Safety Communications, with the duties of overseeing the Weld
County 911 communications center as well as the Weld County public safety wireless
infrastructure and all associated personnel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Tina Powell be, and hereby is, appointed as the Interim Director of the
department of Public Safety Communications for Weld County, with the added duties cited above,
which she will assume in addition to her other duties.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 18th day of August, A.D., 2021.
