The Weld County Board of Health met on January 26, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing
room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via Microsoft
Teams.
Those present included:
Board Members: Nicholas Berryman, Bree Lukens, Sandra Owens, Anthony Gallardo, Fred Hepner,
Tim Annable and Jeff Reck.
Others: Mark Lawley, Executive Director, Katie Sall and Lauren Light Environmental Health
Presenter: Olga Gonzalez, Program Coordinator — Cooking Matters
VOTE FOR NEW CHAIR & VICE CHAIR
Nicholas Berryman nominated for Chair again. A motion by Jeff Reck to approve the nomination and
seconded by Tim Annable. The motion was carried unanimously.
Jeff Reck nominated for Vice Chair. A motion by Tim Annable to approve the nomination and
seconded by Nick Berryman. The motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The meeting was called to order at 9:05 AM. A motion was made by Jeff Reck to approve the agenda
as presented. Tim Annable seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The board approved the minutes of the November 24, 2020 meeting. A motion was made to approve
by Sandra Owens and Bree Lukens seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT: Mark Lawley
1. COVID — Health Care workers/1'responders & 70 + age group are currently receiving the 151
and 2nd dose of the vaccine.
2. We are taking calls and signing up people to pre -register for the 2shot vaccine.
3. We continue to do contact tracing
4. Finance/Administration turning into 2 groups with Tanya Geiser and Holly Smith
5. Trevor Jiricek will continue to be here until the end of the year
6. Board of Health will get COVID survey results at our next meeting.

BUSINESS
Biosolids Renewals
Denali Water Solutions, (was Veris Environmental)- Katie Sall presented 5 biosolids
renewal applications. No public comments or concerns were received. Environmental Health
recommends approval.
DS -200726, DS -1800010, DS -1900001, DS -1900002, DS -190003.
A motion was made by Jeff Reck to approve the renewals. Sandra Owens seconded the motion and
the motion was carried unanimously.
PRESENTATIONS
Olga Gonzalez — Program Coordinator Cooking Matters
2020 was a different year for us. We had normal programming until March holding 6 classes at
Adelante Clinic for parents and kids on how to cook and eat healthy.
Cooking Matters at Home from June -July was all done by zoom. They talked about family meals,
food storage and kitchen safety, snacking and kids in the kitchen.
Cooking Matters August, September, October, November and December at Home : 3 times/week by
zoom- Snacking, Low fat & high fiber protein meals and kids in the kitchen and Recipes
Staff Discussions -
A motion by Jeff Reck to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Tim Annable. Meeting was
adjourned at 9:50 am. Next meeting is Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
