RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - A PRECIOUS CHILD WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and A Precious Child, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said memorandum of understanding, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said memorandum of understanding, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and A Precious Child, be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to sign said memorandum of understanding. Request Board Approval of the Department's Employment Services of Weld County Memorandum of Understanding with A Precious Child. Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC) is requesting to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with A Precious Child, a non-profit organization located in Broomfield, Colorado. A Precious Child assists children and families dealing with abuse, neglect, crises and poverty through partnerships with agencies throughout several counties, including Weld. The purpose of this MOU is to outline the parameters for ESWC clients to access services and programs provided through A Precious Child. This MOU is in effect until canceled by one or both parties and there are no financial obligations. This MOU was reviewed by Legal (G. Kalousek). I do not reconunend a Work Session. A Precious Child provides children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential. We envision a future where every child grows up to be a secure self-reliant, contributing member of their community. A Precious Child will meet the following criteria: 1) A Precious Child does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, gender identity, veteran status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry or national origin. 2) A Precious Child will treat each and every client and Agency Partner with dignity and respect 3) A Precious Child will provide vetted Agency Partners with Referral Vouchers they can give to their clients to shop at A Precious Child's Resource Center for resources and services free of charge, based on availability and funding. Special advocates and Agency Partner representatives can also shop on behalf of their clients at A Precious Child's Resource Center with an appointment. Resources and services include the following: a) Agency Partner onboarding and support b) Clothing, coats, toiletries, home goods and other essentials c) Sports, arts and educational assistance d) School supplies and gifts for the holidays e) Case management and navigation services We are committed to partnering with agencies who share our passion for supporting and empowering children and families who are in the most need. Please confirm your agency currently meets and will continue to meet the following criteria: 1) The Agency does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, gender identity, veteran status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry or national origin 2) The Agency treats all their clients and A Precious Child with dignity and respect 3) The Agency has a process in place for ensuring clients meet at least one of the following criteria: a) Are at or below Federal Poverty line b) Are below the Colorado Self -Sufficiency Standard c) Qualify for free or reduced lunch d) Qualify for government assistance e) Are in need of emergency services (fire, flooding, domestic abuse, etc.) f) Are parents/caregivers/foster parents of children, newborn to 18 years old g) Any disabled adult children, 19-25 years of age who live at home, can qualify for A Precious Child services with proof of disability as defined by the American Disabilities Act.
