Weld County Board of Equalization 2021-2208 ASo loci To whom it may concern: I am writing regards to the personal property tax determination at the car wash on 1815 59th Ave. Greeley, CO. When we first opened the business, we submitted all the information on the cost of the equipment installed. The first year the car wash personal property was valued at $37,591.00 that was for the tax year 2015. The paperwork was sent, and no changes were made, so the value because of depreciation went to $32,121.00 for the 2016 tax year. The year 2017 the value again decreased because of depreciation and the value was $27,724.00 then $23,329.00 then $20,517.00. As you can see the value decreased every year like it should. Then came the big surprise! Our value went from $20,517.00 to $311,554 wow what an increase to a property that had no changes and submitted the form when mailed to us. Did not realize until the notice of valuation came in the mail that the form to submit changes never arrived. So, we filed an appeal, and the value was reduced to $95,528.00. We had not done an appeal before and did not pursue another appeal. This years' valuation went from $95,528 to $171,230.00. Another shock as the form to submit changes was not received. Submitted another appeal with the same information that was submitted when we first opened up. The determination was still high from the very first and still higher than last years appeal as it went from $171,230.00 to $116,519.00. I am not understanding your value for my equipment being so high after submitting all the information that was originally submitted in 2014, the year we started operating the business. The equipment is 6 to 7 years old with a deprecation table of 5 to 7 years. In my appeal I sent the invoice for the wash equipment when purchased. Some of the items listed are not equipment but actual parts of the building or the cement floor system not personal property. I will highlight the personal property on this invoice in my attachment. Since we are at the depreciation age of the equipment I have researched and discovered that the value is 15% of original value. Listed below is my valuation of the personal equipment $55002.00 is higher than the original valuation and feel it is a fair valuation for the personal property 2012 karcher automatic (2) Self serve timer (4) baymaster (2) Vacuums (4) Bill changer (1) Vending (4) Self serve bay station Fragrance vacuum (2) $260,000.00 @15%=39000.00 $15,980.00@ 15%=2397.00 $23000.00 @ 15%=3450.00 $8980.00 @ 15%=1347.00 $3750.00 @ 15%=562.50 $1800.00 @ 15%=270.00 $16100.00 @ 15%=2415.00 $11390 @ 15%=1708.50 Air compressor Misc office Desk and chairs Misc ladders Rinse system Total personal property $1900.00@ 15%=285.00 $500.00 $300.00 $200.00 $17110.00 @ 15%=2566.95 $55,001.95 COMIEC 1580 Teller Street Lakewood.
