HomeMy WebLinkAbout20213453.tiffHEARING CERTIFICATION DOCKET NO. 2021-71 RE: ANNUAL MEETING AND 2022 BUDGET HEARING - SOUTHWESTERN WELD COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY A public hearing was conducted on December 15, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., with the following present: Commissioner Mike Freeman, Chair Commissioner Steve Moreno, Pro-Tem Commissioner Scott K. James Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer Commissioner Kevin D. Ross Also present: Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick County Attorney, Bruce Barker Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden Budget Manager, Jennifer Oftelie The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated November 3, 2016, and duly published November 5, 2020, in the Greeley Tribune, the Annual Meeting of the Southwestern Weld County Law Enforcement District Authority Board was conducted, and a public hearing was conducted to consider the proposed 2020 Budget for the Southwestern Weld County Law Enforcement Authority (LEA) District. Jennifer Oftelie, Budget Manager, noted there has been no notable assessed value for the past several years. She explained, in 2021, there was a budget of $161.00, and a total assessed value of $20.00. Therefore, staff is requesting the Board adopt the 2022 Budget, in the amount of $0.00, with the intent to contact the one remaining out-of-state property owner to disband the district. El No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner James moved to approve the Resolution to Adopt the Budget, in the amount of $0.00. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Saine, and it carried unanimously. El Commissioner Freeman moved to approve the Resolution to Appropriate Sums of Money. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Buck, and it carried unanimously. Commissioner Freeman moved to approve the Resolution to Set the Mill Levy at 7.0 mills. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Buck, and it carried unanimously. Ms. Oftelie indicated an Intergovernmental is no longer needed because there will be no funds or need for law enforcement services and the district will be disbanded.
