LETTER OF CONCERN RESPONSE FORM DEPARTMENT: Clerk and Recorder's Office ELECTED OFFICIAL: Carly Koppes DATE LETTER RECEIVED:.. LETTER RECEIVED FROM: July 14, 2021 Don Briggs LETTER.RECEIVED VIA: Email EMAIL/MAILING ADDRESS: ahlmic.rap@gmail.com * * * PLEASE RESPOND WITHIN THREE DAYS. IF RESPONSE WILL BE DELAYED, PLEASE NOTIFY "CTB GROUP" BY EMAIL. * * * RECOMMENDED ACTION: Without having more information such as plate number we are not able to look up what transactions Mr. Briggs is referring, also the county does not handle DL transactions. We do know that USPS is still having some delivery issues (from them to the customers, not from the customers to us) however we are not able to address those at the county level. The State's vendor has been working with USPS to try and ID what the issue is (when mailing to the customer) we do not have any updated information on the conversations they have had at this time. We continue to report issues to the state for them to research when customers do not receive items from us, at the county level when speaking to our local Post Masters they can not provide any reason for items to not be delivered to our office. METHOD OF RESPONSE: JBoard Action Work Session Letter (Attached) Email (Attached) Telephone Call No Response (Explain) Elected Official Signature: Carly Koppes Digitally signed by Carly Koppes Date: 2021.08.02 09:09:05 -06'00' M:\CTB\LETTERS OF CONCERN\Forms\Elected Official Response Fillable Form (-1 MU Cot;©n5 Gc:CR(CK) 2021-2443 Chloe Rempel From: Sent: To: Subject: DB <ahlmic.rap@gmail.com> Wednesday, July 14, 2021 9:23 AM Chloe Rempel; Esther Gesick Weld County DMV issues Caution. Hi, I am writing you today to report on a significant issue. Over the course of the past few months (April -July) of this year, I have conducted five separate transactions with the DMV. Three of the transactions were associated with vehicle registration renewals. One transaction was for a new title registration and one transaction was for a drivers license renewal. In all five transactions, the associated documents (registration, title and license) were listed as having been sent, never returned or received and identified as "lost in the mail" with the finger of blame pointed towards the USPS. I have never had any problem with USPS deliveries from any source other than those coming from the Weld County Clerk and recorder related to DMV. One or two instances I can accept as a process fluke but to have the same problem associated with every transaction is indicative a more systemic problem. In conversations with other members of the community, I can definitively state that the problem is not isolated to myself of my specific mailing address. Aside from all the obvious risks associated with having personally identifiable documents floating around the ether somewhere, there is the added burden of time and expense along with liability vulnerability imposed on the citizens relying on the service. I would appreciate hearing what steps the County and State level authorities are undertaking to resolve this chronic issue. Thank you, I look forward to your response Don Briggs 1 July 21, 2021 CLERK TO THE BOARD PHONE: (970) 400-4225 FAX: (970) 336-7233 1150 O STREET P. O.
