RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF CHERYL PATTELLI AS WELD COUNTY CHIEF
FINANCE OFFICER (CFO)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board authorized a nationwide search for the position of Weld County
Chief Finance Officer (CFO), and
WHEREAS, Section 4-2(A)(6) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter states:
The Division of Finance and Administration shall be under the direction of a Finance
Officer whose duties shall include the following:
6(a) The County Finance Officer shall, on behalf of the Board of County
Commissioners, act as Chief Accounting Officer of the County and manage,
supervise, coordinate and direct the activities of the Division of Finance and
Administration. They shall be responsible to the Board of Commissioners for the
proper execution, administration and functioning of the affairs of the above -
described divisions of Weld County, including the performance by the respective
divisions and officers of those functions, duties and services permitted or
required by this Charter.
6(b) Cause the policies adopted or approved by the Board of County Commissioners
to be implemented in those divisions as required by the Board of County
Commissioners and insure that the activities of those departments are consistent
with the policies determined and set by the Board of County Commissioners.
6(c) Supervise and direct the preparation of the budget.
6(d) Exercise control over purchases and expenditures and keep the Board of County
Commissioners advised of the financial condition and future needs of the County.
WHEREAS, the Weld County Chief Finance Officer shall, under the direction of the
Director of Finance and Administration, perform the duties and responsibilities outlined in
Section 4-2(A)(6) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter as assigned and delegated to them by
the Director of Finance and Administration, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to appoint Cheryl Pattelli as Weld County Chief Finance
Officer (CFO), effective November 29, 2021.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by Board of Weld County Commissioners that,
effective November 29, 2021, Cheryl Pattelli be, and hereby is, appointed as the Weld County
Chief Finance Officer (CFO).
