RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE EXTENSION OF
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 6 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 13
AND 19 FOR APPROXIMATELY AN ADDITIONAL THREE WEEKS, FOR
UNANTICIPATED DELAYS DUE TO WEATHER
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a):
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
said County Road to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic
thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to
the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that the temporary closure of County Road 6, between
County Roads 13 and 19, be extended, with said extended closure being effective May 4, 2021,
for approximately an additional three (3) weeks through May 28, 2021, for unanticipated delays
due to weather, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said
closure giving notice of the restrictions.

Bridge replacement scheduled to finish 3/12/2021
Culvert replacements scheduled all 3 miles beginning 2/22/2021
culverts: 13 to 15 thru 3/5/21. 15 to 17 thru 3/19/21. 17 to 19 yet to be determined
Pavement milling scheduled to begin 2/22/2021
FDR. CTB. Pave to begin in conjunction of completed prep work
Road scheduled to reopen May 5, 2021.

WCR 4 between WCR 13 and WCR 19 3 mile gravel
WCR 19 between WCR 6 and WCR 4 1 mile paved
NOTES:
ADT of WCR 6 is: 3190/2018
Culverts replaced are irrigation: with new 15" & 18" RCPA
Mag Chloride to be used for dust control
Culverts are 50' and .2 east of WCR 15 on WCR 6
