The intersection of WCR 66 and WCR 45 is currently controlled by stopping traffic in the east and westbound directions. Reviewing traffic count information shows that the volume of traffic traveling east and westbound through this intersection is 4-5 times higher than that traveling north and southbound. Current traffic volumes for this intersection are: Eastbound WCR 66 = 589 VPD Westbound WCR 66 = 419 VPD Northbound WCR? = 187 VPD Southbound WCR= 100 VPD What options exist for the Board? (include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options): - Switch the directions of the intersection traffic control. Remove existing stop signs and install 2 new stop signs stopping north and southbound traffic (2 signs @ $250 each = $500) - Leave the intersection as is (no cost impact) Recommendation: Staff recommends switching the traffic control at this intersection and installing 2 new stop signs to stop north and southbound traffic approaching the intersection. This change will also correspond better with the new roadway functional classification of WCR 66 as an "Arterial" roadway. A review of accidents at this intersection showed that there has been no accidents within the last 5 years. Approve Schedule Recommendation Work Session Perry L. Buck Mike Freeman Scott K.
