RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 6 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 15 AND 17 FOR
APPROXIMATELY TWO (2) WEEKS, FOR TWO (2) CULVERT REPLACEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a):
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
said County Road to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 6, between County Roads 15 and 17, be
temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 8, 2021, for approximately two (2)
weeks for the replacement of two (2) culverts, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 22nd day of February, A.D., 2021.

WCR 6 between WCR 17 and WCR 19 will continue to be closed from 2/26/21 thru 3/12/21 for bridge
replacement work. Original closure dates were 11/2/20 thru 2/26/21 by Resolution #2020-3189.
* WCR 6 between WCR 15 and WCR 17 is closed from 3/8/2021 thru 3/19/2021 for 2 culvert replacements.
WCR 62 between WCR 41 and WCR 43 is closed from 3/8/2021 thru 3/12/2021 for a culvert replacement.
