HomeMy WebLinkAbout20212699Weld County Commissioners' Constitution Day Essay and Art Contest
The Board announced this contest in mid -August, and we received 74
entries from 12 different schools across Weld County. We announced
the contest when we proclaimed September as Constitution Month in
conjunction with Constitution Week. Constitution Week
commemorates the formation and signing on September 17,
1787, of the United States Constitution and recognize all who, by
coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.
Today, will we announce the winners in the three categories: Art,
Poetry, Essays. We will then reach out and invite the winners to
our September 27th board meeting to receive their certificate and
to allow the first -place winners to share their winning entry. The
work of the remaining winners will be shared on our website.
We are proud to have had the assistance of Representative Dan
Woog and Representative Tonya Van Beber, who assisted in
judging this contest. Our own Commissioner Saine also took one
of the categories for judging.
