Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment
Second Floor Hearing Room 210 & via Microsoft Teams
The Weld County Board of Health met on June 22, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing
room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via Microsoft
Teams.
Those present included:
Board Members: Nicholas Berryman, Bree Lukens, Fred Hepner, James Kuemmerle, and Jeff Reck
Others: Mark Lawley, Executive Director, Holly Smith Public Health Administration and
Environmental Health Lauren Light.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The meeting was called to order at 9:10 AM. A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve the
agenda with biosolid renewals going first. Jeff Reck seconded the motion and the motion was carried
unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The board approved the minutes of the May 25, 2021 meeting. A motion was made to approve by
Bree Lukens and Fred Hepner seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT: Mark Lawley, Executive Director
Mark Lawley said they are working with Kim Boyd on a new employee survey that will be coming
out soon. Holly Smith gave an update of the strategic plan groups:
Group 1 — Employee Survey
Group 2 — Quality Improvement — The are working with the leadership team
Group 3- Community Partnership — Working on new marketing materials and partnerships
Mark & Holly also gave an update on Weld County COVID 19, after the meeting we send out the
presentation to the Board of Health members.
Biosolids Renewal:
Denali Water Solutions — Lauren Light presented 22 biosolid renewal applications. No
public comment or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval.

A motion was made by Jeff Reck to approval the renewals. Fred Hepner seconded the motion and
the motion was carried unanimously.
City & County of Broomfield — Lauren Light presented 6 biosolid renewal application. No
public comments or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval.

A motion was made by Jeff Reck to approve the renewal. Fred Hepner seconded the motion and the
motion was carried unanimously.
