WELD COUNTY LONG-TERM CARE
RESIDENTS' RIGHTS MONTH
OCTOBER 2021
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners respects the rights of the more than 850
individuals living in ten nursing homes and nearly 1,000 individuals living in 28 assisted living
facilities in Weld County; and
WHEREAS, we wish to honor these citizens and recognize their valuable individuality and to
reaffirm their rights, including the right to have a say in their care; and
WHEREAS, all residents should be aware of their rights so they may be empowered to live with
dignity and self-determination; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Ombudsmen will be commemorating Residents' Rights Month with
the theme "Reclaiming My Rights, My Home, My Life," acknowledging the impact of this past year
on residents and highlighting the need for residents' rights to be recognized, recovered, and
reasserted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
October be known as Weld County Long -Term Care Residents' Rights Month.
